Dear whoever you are reading this right now:
Once upon a time, in a land where it snowed today, the first opportunity to chronicle my adventures in the kitchen arrived. A night without jazz band... Hmm, what to do??.. What else but crowd 5 people in a mini-kitchen creating a dinner for many. The adventures in my kitchen.
The menu for tonight:
2 Mexican Chicken Pizzas
1 Mashed Potato Pizza
1 Cheese Pizza (a frozen one...)
1 Pepperoni Pizza (again, frozen...)
Ingredients needed for the evening:
9 Awesome, God-given friends
2 Random College kids walking by to finish off the pizza!
5 (Hopefully) Delicious Pizzas
4 Heaping piles of laughter
1 Teaspoon of sarcasm
3 tablespoons of Arabic phrases... and Spanish... and French...
1 New pile of dishes to do later...
Let's see... First:
Mexican Chicken Pizza consists of pizza crust, salsa, chicken, and Mexican cheese. Throw it together; throw it in the oven. And then make sure not to burn it :)
Second:
Mashed Potato Pizza-- recipe compliments of my mommy and adapted a bit for my needs. I grew up eating Mashed Potato sandwiches (I love me my carbs :D )and love anything potato related. What could be better than slapping a heaping pile of mashed potatoes on a pizza crust with some provolone cheese (called for Parmesan but provolone was yummy too) and rosemary and olive oil. (Psstttt... Did you know that rosemary is really good for you?? It was used in ancient Roman times as incense but then some physician began discovering it's health benefits including boosting mental activity, oral care, kidney care, and pain relief. Fun fact.. or at least I think so :D)
Third and Fourth:
Frozen Pizza Magic-- Do not forget to take it off the cardboard. This is a lesson I learned from my big sister many years ago :) It's always nice to be the younger sister and learn from example! However, frozen pizza has nothing on home-made pizza and it's kind of nasty in comparison but it was still food, which college students don't turn down!
The best thing about college is you can guarantee your friends want food and if you cook for them they are very happy campers. Food is very essential to a college students daily life and it's wonderful when you get to spend each meal with friends and have wonderful conversation-- sometimes equaling "Isn't Jesus just sooo awesome? He created that yellow tree just because!" and sometimes ending in Megan rolling on the floor laughing hysterically! No matter what though you can be sure it will be a good time and a needed break from classes and homework.
Well I guess that's all I've got for tonight's adventures. True story: I like to cook and I'm glad you're following this God given adventure with me!
Days since last meal cooked: 0! Thank goodness! :)
Is it a pie or a pizza? I say it's a pizza!
Toodles for now,
Megan
